Following reports earlier in the week that Leeds were hoping to secure the services of Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent on a loan deal, James Marshment of TalkSport has reported that Leeds have had an approach for the player rejected.
Marshment claims that Kent has no interest in another loan deal and either wants a permanent transfer or the opportunity to fight for a permanent place in the Liverpool first team.
Kent, now 22, has so far experienced numerous loan deals, ranging from clubs such as Coventry and Bristol City to SC Freiburg, but rose to prominence in the season just gone where he became an essential part of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side. At Rangers, Kent picked up the Scottish Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award.
It’s no secret that Leeds are actively chasing a winger, with Jack Harrison expected to return to Elland Road for another season. Leeds have also been linked with more ambitious names such as that of Helder Costa of Wolves.
Time will tell just who Leeds do end up capturing, but it is time that is the issue. Leeds need these deals wrapped up before the start of, or early-on in, pre-season so the new additions can be blooded into Bielsa’s style.
