Leeds United have repeatedly iterated that they will look to the Championship for their new recruits this summer, in the hope that the lure of Premier League football will be irrefusable.

Football Insider have today claimed that Leeds have a particular fancy for two Reading midfielders: Michael Olise and John Swift.

Olise, 18, is of the Chelsea and Manchester City youth set-ups but moved to Reading in 2016. The central midfielder turned out on 18 occasions for the Royals in the Championship this season, and has been praised for his ability in midfield duels having won 4.3 per game, on average.

John Swift has been linked with Leeds in recent transfer periods. The 25 year old box-to-box midfielder has been prominent in the Championship for a considerable time now and has won himself some significant plaudits. It’s believed Swift will be chased by a number of clubs this summer, with Sheffield United already thought to have tabled a bid.

The most basic numbers for Swift speak for themselves: 6 goals and 10 assists in the league this season.
