Leeds have today completed the signing of Bristol City full-back Luke Ayling for an undisclosed fee – although it is believed to be around the £750,000 mark. Ayling has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road.
It was confirmed yesterday that Leeds had lined up a deal for a right-back and Ayling’s name was touted around but it wasn’t confirmed until this afternoon. The 24-year-old could go straight into Leeds’ team for the Birmingham game on Saturday.
Ayling is Garry Monk’s eighth Summer signing at Elland Road. The London-born defender started his career at Arsenal where he was partnered at centre-back by fellow Leeds defender and Summer recruit, Kyle Bartley. He played over 150 games in a four year spell at Yeovil Town before joining Bristol City in 2014. He made 80 appearances for the Robins scoring four goals. He helped them win the League One title and the Football League Trophy in his debut season.
