Thomas Christiansen has confirmed at his press conference today that both Klich and Bridcutt will be missing from the match-day squad for “tactical” reasons. Obviously you can’t have five central midfielders in the squad every week, but it’s an interesting development.

It almost certainly means that Ronaldo Vieira will be back in the squad, though he’ll probably be on the bench with Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane starting. We also have Vurnon Anita who can cover there, so it makes sense to leave those two out. Although I believe Bridcutt may look to leave the club before the end of the transfer window as he’ll want to be starting regularly and he won’t be doing that here.

Christiansen also confirmed that Berardi, Green and Pennington are out injured, though he didn’t tell us how long that will be for.

There will be some to probably go – Doukara and Diagourada come to mind but not sure about Bridcutt and Green. If Green goes then we need another goalkeeper so I hope he will stay and Bridcutt at least until January.
I was glad to see Antonssen get a good loan move and I don’t think Christiansen has totally given up on him as yet so good luck to him for a great season. I will watch with interest.
There is still plenty of time to find that elusive CB but I won’t be surprised if Wood goes to the Prem for big money which might explain the guy from Germany. I hope Wood stays but you couldn’t blame him if a shot at the Premiership was on offer at the right price to the club.
