According to German media outlet Kicker Leeds are set to pay €500k to Werder Bremen for Felix Wiedwald. It is presumed that he will be backup for Rob Green, as he didn’t have the best season last year, conceding the most goals in the Bundesliga. Wiedwald is a good shot-stopper although he lacks in the catching department and also struggles with the ball at his feet. Sound familiar? However he is only 27 so he has a lot of time to improve and maybe being a backup for a year will allow him to improve in key areas of his game.

  1. With goalkeepers it’s a confidence thing and the quality of the players in front of them. I think we just have to trust the judgement of the club in this respect. Can we presume that Silvestri is on his way out?

  2. poor keeper, bad shot stopper parries all the time, never comes for crosses and useless at corners. with silvestre leaving peacock farrell must not be as good as we thought.

  3. Peacock-Farrell is a great young keeper and should be given the chance! Why pay 500k for what looks like a very poor keeper when we have players available in our youth squads that can do a better job for us?
Remember everyone saying how crazy O’Leary was?
