Leeds United are set to announce the signing of Wigan Athletic’s Sean McGurk as his medical comes to a conclusion.

Leeds have already completed one signing for the under-23s in Amari Miller while adding a left-back to the senior squad in Junior Firpo.

The club have a lot more business to conduct before they can consider their transfer window complete.

One of the longest-standing links for Leeds under Bielsa recently has been with Wigan’s Sean McGurk.

While Leeds’ under-18s shone in the FA Youth Cup last season, so did the Latics with Joe Gelhardt and McGurk ripping it up.

Now, the pair look set to reunite at Elland Road with Football Insider revealing that the player has undergone a medical and is finalising the terms of his transfer to Leeds.

The 18-year-old will be joining up with the under-23s as Leeds’ fourth official signing, and the third new face at the club.

McGurk is a very strong signing for our under-23s and could add a lot of strength in attacking midfi9eld, a position where we are somewhat weak.

His performances alongside Gelhardt for Wigan should be something to get the Leeds fans excited as they look to link up again under Mark Jackson though.

There are so many players in this under-23s lineup that could have genuine first-team aspirations for Leeds, and it’s great to see.

We have players all over the pitch in the youth setup now that could have reason to be called up to Bielsa’s side in the future, and McGurk is one of them.
