Odds on Aitor Karanka to become Leeds United’s next manager have been slashed to just 2/9 with SkyBet, amid rumours that Leeds have opened talks with the former Middlesbrough manager.

Karanka has been firm favourite to take over the vacant post at Elland Road ever since Garry Monk left last Thursday and it’s now looking likely as ever considering Leeds have just appointed Victor Orta as the clubs Director of Football.

Claudio Ranieri is still second favourite with odds of 4/1 while Simon Grayson is third favourite at 12/1. My personal choice would either be to give Pep Clotet the job full time or give it to Michael Laudrup. Both are 16/1 and Laudrup could well be the key to Leeds keeping Clotet at Elland Road. The former Swansea boss appointed Clotet as his Academy Consultant at the Liberty Stadium and a reunion might well be on the cards.

For now it’s still up in the air but today has been the first time anyone has mentioned Karanka being in talks with the managerial role. Either way we need to get it sorted as soon as possible or we’re going to be in exactly the same position as we were in last year.

Also, Leeds are set to make Hadi Sacko their first summer signing on a permanent deal.

  1. Common sense says give pep clotet a chance he knows the club and players so why give it to somebody like Karnak who would be like one step forward and two steps back which as been the case at leeds for the past few years

  2. Laudrup IN with Clotet staying on as his assistant –
Karanka WHY – he’s just been butchered in the Premiership his teams are renowned for being dull and dour

  3. Clotet is my choice please not karanka we will become the most boring team in the championship he could not cut it in the P.L. defensively minded no plan b so no we dont want him a
