Leeds United have bid farewell to left-back Leif Davis, who joins League One outfit Ipswich Town on a permanent deal.

The Whites have said goodbye to some vital players this summer while also allowing others the chance to pursue opportunities better suited to them.

With loans and permanent exits sealed, Leif Davis joins the list of departures shortly after returning from the pre-season tour of Australia, as he moves to Ipswich Town on a permanent deal.

He took to Instagram to share his thoughts on a memorable stint with the club, where he experienced promotion and Premier League football for the first time, and the reaction from his former teammates highlights the status he held amongst the squad:

Amongst the host of names commenting, wishing him well, were the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha and a large portion of the existing squad whom he recently played with in Australia:

Do Leeds still need a left-back in January?

Davis might not have been part of the long-term plans here, but he was a big part of the squad and this sort of reaction shows just that.

Even players who won’t have had much of a relationship with him, such as Tyler Adams, were keen to wish him well on his move to the Tractor Boys.

I’m fully expecting Davis to go to Ipswich and become a very good player for them and prove why he was someone trusted to play in the Premier League in our first season back.

It’s a shame it didn’t work out fully for him, but he has had a successful time here still and goes to League One with all the best wishes and the confidence from most that he’ll be playing higher up very soon.
