Kalvin Phillips fitness is a constant question at Leeds United as his impact both in and out of the side makes a huge difference to results.

Before Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival, not many saw a long-term future at the heart of the Leeds United midfield for Kalvin Phillips.

The Argentine has turned Phillips into a midfielder that looks like he’s in with a strong shout for making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s European Championships.

With such quality in holding midfield has come the problem of how to replicate it when he’s been out injured.

Phillips’ absence has a hugely detrimental effect on the squad’s performance both defensively and in possession.

So, any inkling that the Yorkshire Pirlo is returning to fitness following his hamstring injury is great news.

Leeds’ official Twitter account posted a video of Phillips interrupting Raphinha’s media duties ahead of the West Ham game on Monday, beeping his horn from the Thorp Arch car park.

What this suggests, or seems to be the case, is that Phillips is back in training and pushing for a Leeds United return after his calf injury last month.

The fans are buzzing to see even a snippet of footage of him…

It’s not a strong indication of his fitness at the moment, but being at Thorp Arch says a lot about how it’s going for Phillips.

Having Phillips back for West Ham on Monday would be massive, but it’s far too soon to rush him back from the injury and we’ve coped fairly well in the past few games.

The under-23s play tomorrow against Wolves and we could potentially see him take part for at least 45 minutes, as Gaetano Berardi did last week.

Also, it’s good to see that Raphinha is part of the training ground banter and clearly a core member of the squad.
