Junior Firpo took a step back in the right direction at Leeds United, coming off the bench in a late 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace last night.

Leeds left it late at Elland Road, as Raphinha stepped up to convert a stoppage time penalty at the end of the second-half.

For Firpo, he found himself dropped out of the side following a tough evening at Brighton on Saturday. However, Marcelo Bielsa called for him from the bench at half-time last night.

There was an improved performance from the 25-year-old, too, as he played on the front-foot and contributed to Leeds’ attack well from left-back.

Following the game, Firpo took to Twitter to react to Leeds’ victory:

Firpo struggled initially last night, picking up a yellow card for a foul on Jordan Ayew.

However, from that, he responded pretty well and produced a much more encouraging performance after Saturday’s struggle.

Leeds fans are yet to see the best of Firpo, but it’s hard to have a clear judgement on him when he’s been so stop, start.

Fingers crossed he can build on this 45 minutes in future weeks.
