Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is very unlikely to be the man that Leeds United appoint this week, according to various reports.
Jesse Marsch has vacated the role at Leeds, having been sacked on Monday after a run of seven games without a win left the side just outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
The search to bring in a new manager looks likely to reach a conclusion sooner rather than later, while Victor Orta is tasked with reaching an agreement with a manager in a job currently.
The Times reported that of three names heading the shortlist at Elland Road to take over the job in the dugout, one of those is Feyenoord’s Arne Slot.
Slot has guided Feyenoord to the top of the Eredivisie this season having lost arguably his best attacking player from last season to Leeds in Luis Sinisterra, after being runners-up in the Europa Conference League in 2021/22.
However, Voetbal International Martijn Krabbendam has revealed that while Dutchman is part of the Leeds shortlist for the manager role, he is unlikely to be the person appointed.
“Victor Orta is known as one of the better TDs (technical director) in the Premier League, so when he sacked Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch, he already had a list ready. Also the name of Arne Slot. Spoiler: It probably won’t be.”

Meanwhile, Sky Sports’ Tom Thornton has shared that the Feyenoord man is not on the list, and won’t be actively chased at this moment in time.

The noises around who we are being linked with in general are really encouraging for us, knowing that we are likely to appoint a very impressive manager.
Andoni Iraola would be a huge improvement and a very smart way to go, as would Slot if the off-chance of him signing came off.
