Leeds United winger Raphinha is reportedly open to a move to the Emirates, after Arsenal’s opening bid was rejected.

The club are needing to stand firm this week, with the race to sign Brazil international Raphinha starting to speed up.

Talk of a move has been rife for some time, but it appears as though we’re speeding towards an exit for him.

It was revealed on Tuesday night that Arsenal had made the opening move to sign the winger, with the Athletic reporting a bid from Arsenal.

While the offer was very quickly rejected by Leeds, it was a statement of intent more than anything.

Now, journalist Freddie Paxton has shared insight into Raphinha’s stance on a possible move to the Emirates:

Arsenal may be the first side to bid, but the offer of Champions League football could be what decides his move to a club this summer, which the Gunners can’t give him.

What this bid shows me is that we’re likely to see a bidding war commence, and it’s going to spark more interest.

If Tottenham do mean business, they should be looking to blow Arsenal out of the water here.

With Premier League teams now moving ahead of Barcelona, I’m more at ease with the thought of how much we’re going to get for him.

I do wonder whether Raphinha would be totally keen on Arsenal, given they aren’t in the Champions League.
