Leeds United are one of a host of Premier League clubs taking an interest in signing Bristol City starlet Alex Scott this month.

The Whites bid farewell to Mateusz Klich last night following their thrilling 2-2 draw with West Ham, as the Pole was confirmed to be moving to the MLS.

It leaves Leeds with a sizeable hole to fill not only in the dressing room, but the actual midfield, given Klich’s importance to the side since he became vital in 2018/19.

Leeds might not be looking to break the bank if they do decide to sign someone to cover for the departed Klich, as much as Jesse Marsch appeared to indicate it would be unlikely.

A cost-effective EFL swoop could be on the cards in more than just the midfield, but with Klich, it might make sense to explore young talent in the second tier.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now reported that Bristol City Alex Scott is a player the Whites are interested in, amongst a host of other Premier League sides including Tottenham, Wolves, Bournemouth, Leicester City, and Brighton.

The Robins have set a big price tag on the 19-year-old, reportedly demanding a fee of £12million to let him go this January.

Scott has been a core part of Nigel Pearson’s side this season, making 25 appearances and registering five assists in that time.

Should Leeds replace Klich this January?

Klich needs replacing, as much as Marsch seems to think he doesn’t.

The fact that he has been the first sub for most of our games this season shows that he is the man we look to in order to change things in our favour.

We can’t go into the rest of the season not having that sort of impact available to us in the second half.

Scott might not be the exact same sort of player, but he definitely would go some distance to replacing Klich in the long run, already doing the business in the Championship at a tender age.
