Adama Traore has yet again been linked with a move to Leeds United this summer, as he bids farewell to Wolves upon the expiry of his contract.

With only one game remaining in the season, plenty of transfer speculation is surfacing at Leeds despite the fact that we don’t actually know what division they will be playing in next campaign.

A lot of the same links have started to surface with players’ contracts running down, and a familiar name has joined the rumour mill.

Traore to Leeds?

Just like Ryan Kent and Che Adams, Wolves winger Adama Traore’s name is never far away when it comes to discussing Leeds transfer speculation in each transfer window.

The link typically stemmed from Victor Orta’s link to his fellow Spaniard, having worked with him during their time at Middlesbrough together.

Now, the lightning-quick winger is due to leave Wolves upon the expiry of his contract this summer, sparking more discussion that an Elland Road move could be on the cards.

Ben Jacobs brings new update

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has now reported that Leeds are one of the clubs that are monitoring the winger ahead of the summer.

As he writes in his CaughtOffside column, Jacobs had this to say on Leeds chasing Traore:

“It’s worth pointing out that Adama Traore is a free agent as things stand and has drawn attention from Leeds, Atalanta, Milan and even Serie A champions Napoli.

“Lopetegui has made no secret he wants Traore to stay, but previous negotiations haven’t led to clarity over his future.”

No chance we are looking to sign Traore, just as it was the case in every other window that we have been linked with him.

He’s not proven at all since 2019/20 that he’s good enough to be a consistent Premier League player, and he’ll be on too much money to drop into the Championship.

Either way, he’ll be earning too much for us to look at in the EFL, and he’s not good enough for us to consider if we somehow stay up.
