With the plane tracking unit of the Leeds fanbase in full swing, Phil Hay has reported that Jean Kevin Augustin and his agent arrived into Leeds last night.
Hay also announced that he’s expected to have a medical this morning, should this all go through then he’ll most likely be at, but not involved in, the Milwall game this morning.
One of the more outstanding aspects of this move is the deal involved, Leeds are set to secure the striker’s services on loan until the end of the season. However, they are under no obligation to buy the player if they’re not promoted. Given the forward’s stature, the likely value of the transfer would completely obliterate Leeds’ Financial FairPlay obligations. Should Leeds be promoted, then the finances may be there to make the deal a permanent switch, that is if both parties are willing.
This is a signing that will bring much needed excitement to Elland Road and is exactly the sort of deal Leeds should be pursuing if they are serious about their ambition.
