After the devastation of Leeds missing out on the playoffs and quickly moving on to thinking Garry Monk was leaving, Cellino was staying forever and Leeds were being liquidated, we’ve reached a much better stage. It’s being reported everywhere other than Radio Yorkshire, shock there, that Cellino and Radrizzani are close to completing the deal that would see Andrea own 100% of Leeds United.
All the noises from #lufc at the moment are that the 100% buy out is underway & that Andrea Radrizzani wants a swift conclusion to deal.

These two things combined, make for a lot of positivity in Leeds right now. For a while it was known that Andrea would sit down with Garry in June and for me, that was just too far away. Our season is over now and we needed to start planning the day after Norwich. Luckily, it looks like Andrea is getting on with things. There’s no guaranteeing that Monk will stay as of yet, Andrea will need to make him promises, I doubt he’d stay if he had the same budget as he did last summer. We had a good run this year, we overachieved with the squad we have, next year we need to dominate. Imagine how good it would be if we just got deals done, spent some serious money where needed, and be that good next season that we just anger everyone else even more.
Last season when Brighton bottled promotion, they sent a tweet out the next day saying the 2016/17 season starts right here. That’s exactly the sort of vibe we need right now. Turn the negativity of missing out on the playoffs into positivity, committing in full to next season’s promotion push. Don’t wait till August to sign players, make moves now if you can. A free agent such as David Stockdale would be a good start. There’s also rumours Jonny Howson is available…
