Excitingly Leeds have more players than I can ever remember (in the recent period) involved with their respective international sides. Further, far from being bit-part squad players, our international players are a major part of their side’s set up. We’ve broken down a selection of performances so far:

Stuart Dallas and Bailey Peacock-Farrell (Northern Ireland)- Northern Ireland swept Estonia aside in a 2-0 victory last night. Dallas and BPF both played the full 90. Dallas played in a left-back role, but importantly this would have been very valuable experience for BPF back in net at a senior level as he is set to start against Milwall on our first game back from the international break following Kiko Casilla’s sending off at home to Sheff U. BPF made a particularly impressive one-on-one save in the second half to deny Henri Anier.

Tyler Roberts (Wales)- Tyler Roberts put in a very mature performance as part of a very young and fresh Wales front line as they beat Trinidad and Tobago 1-0 at home. TyRob, wearing the number 9 shirt, played 71 minutes and Ryan Giggs seems to be very keen on keeping him as part of his long-term plan.

Ezgjan Alioski (Macedonia)- Of course. Our guy opened the scoring for Macedonia in what many people have termed ‘the most Alioski goal ever’ (Attached below). Making a darting run up the left wing that makes the video seem like its on 2x speed, Alioski recieved the ball on the edge of the box before firing it through the keeper in the 11th minute. Gianni also picked up an assist for Elmas’ and Macedonia’s 3rd goal in injury time.

Mateusz Klich (Poland)- Klich completed all 90 minutes in what is a very strong Poland side against an equally strong Austria side as they snatched a 0-1 away win thanks to a second-half goal from AC Milan’s Piatek. Klich appeared to feature in a slightly deeper role than we are used to. Just like the rest, Klich seems to be a sure-starter for his international side.

We will endeavour to keep you updated with the progress of our international players as the games happen.
