Leeds United are gearing up for a very exciting friendly against Ajax on Wednesday, but it has been revealed that there are two games to be played in Amsterdam.

The Whites have had a mixed start to their pre-season campaign, but it’s nothing to worry about with Marcelo Bielsa’s side fully focused on getting up to speed before the trip to Old Trafford.

However, it is a chance for the fans to get a glimpse of the squad as they continue to grow after clinching promotion in 2020.

Up next for Leeds is the biggest fixture of the lot with a trip to Amsterdam to face Ajax, off the back of a defeat to Real Betis at Loughborough University.

It is a chance for Bielsa to get another look at his senior setup as he hopes to build peak fitness ahead of the Premier League kick-off against Manchester United.

However, there has been an interesting update revealed on Twitter regarding the game, with Ziggo Sport stating that there are two kick-off times for the ‘clash’ – one at 1:45 pm and the other at 8:00 pm (local times assuming):

Two games on the same day is pre-season heaven, and you’d expect that the first one is an under-23s clash while the later kick-off is the pre-agreed fixture between the two first teams.

There aren’t many bigger tests in world football for our academy than facing one of the greatest setups in world football.

It’ll be an interesting visit for Pascal Struijk in particular who left the Dutch giants for Leeds back in 2018 and will hopefully get to speak to some familiar faces.

I’m not expecting either side to win against Ajax given their strength throughout the ranks, but it’s a great test to come up against a team that will play positive, attacking football.
