Luke Ayling starred for Leeds United once more at Molineux this afternoon, scoring in a 4-2 win over Wolves.
Leeds took an early lead through Jack Harrison and were forced to hold onto their advantage heading into half-time.
After the break Ayling buried a diving header from a Marc Roca corner, recreating his famous Robbie Keane celebration from this day last year.
Rasmus Kristensen struck a third time for Leeds before Wolves’ fightback through Jonny and Matheus Cunha. The former would receive a red card for a lunging tackle on Ayling, before Rodrigo Moreno’s deft finish on 97 minutes secured the points and triggered more Wolves reaction, Matheus Nunes receiving a red card for his complaints.
Ayling’s famous Wolves celebration
Above is the aftermath of Ayling recreating his Robbie Keane celebration against Wolves in 2022, something he didn’t hold back doing again today after heading Leeds into a 2-0 lead.
It’s a big talking point across Leeds channels tonight and there’s even been a reaction from former midfielder, Mateusz Klich, who took to Instagram to make sure Ayling knew he’d seen his antics.
Leeds’ win at Wolves has moved them up into 14th in the Premier League table.
The big updated Luke Ayling quiz – Can Leeds United fans score 20/20?
After Klich’s departure, Ayling is the main personality in the Leeds dressing room now.
As soon as he stooped to score at the back-post today you knew what was coming and the celebration was equally as sweet as it was 12 months ago – celebrating St Patrick’s Day with Robbie Keane’s trademark at one of his former clubs no less.
Leeds’ fans are loving it and so it Klich.
