The Leeds United president Andrea Radrizzani has been spotted with PSG‘s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the chairman of Qatari Sporting Investments at the World Cup in Qatar.
QSI have long been linked with a move to buy shares with the Whites, as reported by the Daily Star in 2019.
They claimed QSI were set to pay £10 million for a stake in Leeds at some point. That never materialised but the Leeds president’s relationship with Al-Khelaifi remains strong.
In May 2020, the Italian businessman spoke to Italian outlet, Gianluca Di Marzio, where he said there was a possibility of QSI and himself going into business together:
“These are rumours that have been ongoing for more than a year now. What is true is that we have a great relationship on a personal level.
“There’s a desire to do something together maybe even in football but there’s nothing concrete at this time.”
Radrizzani took to Twitter and posted a video of some fans fans at the World Cup:
The Italian was in esteemed company as he was spotted sat alongside the likes of Edin Dzeko, Miralem Pjanic, and Al-Khelaifi at the Al-Bayt stadium, as shared by Benjamin Quarez on Twitter:
The big updated Andrea Radrizzani quiz – Can Leeds United fans score 20/20?
Perhaps just an invite, perhaps something more?
Radrizzani is known for going on various business ventures, but I wouldn’t expect this to be that this time. It is more than likely a meeting between two friends who wish to watch some World Cup live action.
The rumours won’t go away in the meantime, though.
