Illan Meslier has underlined the importance of Leeds United’s win over Crystal Palace last night in the Premier League.

Leeds left it late to sink Palace at Elland Road, as Raphinha stepped up to bury a stoppage time penalty following a Marc Guehi handball.

There were occasions where Leeds rode their luck at times, with Meslier snatching a Christian Benteke effort off the line. On another occasion, the Palace striker missed the clearest of chances to put his side ahead at the back post.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side, though, responded with Raphinha’s cool penalty on 94 minutes.

Following the game, Meslier took to Twitter to underline how important the win and clean sheet were, claiming ‘everything is clear’ now:

Meslier wasn’t quite as busy as he was at Brighton at the weekend, but he still had moments of brilliance to keep Leeds at 0-0.

The reaction to pluck the loose ball from the line was impressive and really showed what good reactions that the 21-year-old has.

The goalkeeper is growing week on week and managed his way through some tough conditions at Elland Road last night, which he deserves credit for.
