Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier is one of multiple players in Javi Gracia’s squad likely to be subject to strong transfer interest this summer.
Despite Leeds’ perennial struggles to keep the ball out of their net in the Premier League, Illan Meslier has often caught the eye in goals.
The just-turned 23-year-old has been a star for Leeds ever since coming into the side in early 2020, and has now racked up 100 Premier League appearances earlier than any other goalkeeper in the league’s history, doing so in the 4-2 win away at Wolves last time out.
His performances for Leeds haven’t gone unnoticed, though, and the Whites face a battle to keep hold of him beyond the summer.

Fabrizio Romano’s update
The goalkeeper is being watched closely by a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, including Chelsea.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who wrote in his CaughtOffside Daily Briefing recently to share this insight on the Frenchman:
“Links with someone like Illan Meslier and a top club like Chelsea are normal, he’s a very talented goalkeeper and many clubs have sent their scouts to follow him.
“But at the moment, Leeds want to keep things quiet and not to open any negotiation now. Chelsea are yet to make a decision on the goalkeepers’ situation.”

Are Chelsea the only club keen?
Chelsea are, of course, not the only club that have been credited with interest in the ‘keeper in the past 12 months.
French outlet Media Foot claimed that Manchester United joined Chelsea in their interest of Meslier, as they seek the long-term successor to David de Gea at Old Trafford.
Not only Man United and Chelsea are keen, though, with Tottenham also seeking someone to replace ageing compatriot of Meslier, Hugo Lloris – per The Athletic.
The Athletic also reported back in 2021 that Leeds had turned down an offer from PSG for the ‘keeper, and they could be another club that are still monitoring him.
