Illan Meslier remains one of the hottest properties within the Leeds United squad in the Premier League.
Leeds are fighting to retain their Premier League status this season again, with Meslier key to that.
His performance in goal in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Wolves was impressive, with the Frenchman keeping Leeds ahead at a number of intervals.
The 23-year-old has admirers from elsewhere, though, with reports over the weekend detailing Chelsea’s current stance.
Are Chelsea interested in signing Illan Meslier?

A report from Football Insider over the weekend has suggested that Chelsea “have joined the race” to sign Meslier out of Leeds.
Leeds’ potential relegation could mean that Meslier is available for a cut-price deal in the upcoming transfer window, with Graham Potter eyeing a new goalkeeper.
It’s suggested that Chelsea would be ready to outbid both Manchester United and Tottenham for the goalkeeper, who Leeds could demand somewhere around the £30m-mark for.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Chelsea and others’ scouting of Meslier to match.
In his Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside, Romano wrote:
“Links with someone like Illan Meslier and a top club like Chelsea are normal, he’s a very talented goalkeeper and many clubs have sent their scouts to follow him.
“But at the moment, Leeds want to keep things quiet and not to open any negotiation now. Chelsea are yet to make a decision on the goalkeepers’ situation.”
