Leeds United youngster Lewis Bate is likely to be sent out on loan soon as he remains in England while the squad travels for pre-season.
Sunday saw Leeds embark on their flight across the globe to Australia for their pre-season tour.
Not only were these two staying put, young midfielder Lewis Bate is not included in the list of players travelling for the tour.
The list of first-team names sees plenty of fresh faces, but the former Chelsea midfielder is confirmed as not being one of them.
Adam Pope has revealed that he has remained behind due to ongoing talk of a loan move for the 2022/23 season:
Bate made his debut for Leeds in the FA Cup defeat to West Ham back in January, before coming off the bench in the 3-2 win against the same opponents in the Premier League just a week later.
A new manager is bringing a new approach.
With Bielsa, we saw that the top youngsters stayed close by in order for him to monitor their progress.
However, with more depth meaning we hopefully don’t have to call upon youngsters each week, a loan makes a lot of sense.
Giving him the chance to play regular Championship football next season rather than sporadic minutes off the bench is a wise choice.
Hopefully, this can get sorted soon and we can look forward to enjoying him controlling the midfield across the EFL.
