Luke Ayling has claimed that former Leeds United loanee, Ben White, will go on and play for England and win the Premier League.

Leeds proved to be a happy home for White, with the centre-back winning promotion and the Championship title in 2019/20 before returning to Brighton and Hove Albion.

White is now settling into life in the Premier League with Brighton, but still catches the eye of those at Leeds.

Last season, White featured in every fixture for Leeds in the Championship, proving to be one of Marcelo Bielsa’s standout players on the way to promotion.

However, Leeds failed to bring White in permanently back in the summer, settling on Robin Koch and Diego Llorente instead.

Ayling, though, has been discussing White’s quality with Sky Sports recently, telling them how the centre-back is destined for the very top.

He is a real, real quality player with a strong mentality. The sky’s the limit for him.

I’ve got no doubt that he’ll play for England soon and play many games for them.

He’ll probably go to one of the top teams in England and probably win the league and that because he’s that good, I think.

The 23-year-old has made 28 appearances for Brighton this season, as they look to pull further away from the relegation zone.

There won’t be a Leeds fan that doesn’t agree with what Ayling is saying here.

Ben White is a special player and you’ve got to feel that, in time, he will make a move to a Champions League side.

He’s that good and as he adapts to life in the Premier League, he’s starting to show that too.

Leeds will be gutted that he’s not their player, but the options Bielsa has at centre-back are still good this season, which has made things easier.

There will, though, always be the romance of White.

If the chance came to re-sign him, you’d like to think that the club would consider it.
