Our look towards fixtures of those teams around Leeds in the race for promotion. Leeds obviously host Sheffield Wednesday in the 5:30 and nothing less than 3 points will suffice. But could Leeds be handed a favour from an unlikely friend?

Sheffield United vs Milwall

A favour from Milwall? You’d have thought that’s the least they will do. Sheffield United wobbled in the week as they only got a draw against Birmingham City, which is actually better than the result we got against them anyway. So, let’s not draw too much from there. Milwall have been in very average form, for their place in the league you might say only losing 1 in 4 is fairly respectable. But I think it’s more than likely Sheff U rollover Milwall on Saturday, leaving Leeds to play catch-up later that evening.

Wigan vs Norwich

Lucky them, getting the 12 o clock Sunday lunchtime kick off. Norwich’s 6 point lead at the top looks unassailable and they are firmly in pole position to wrap up that title in the next few weeks. However, Wigan do still have something to play for as they are in no way secure from the relegation places. Is this the definition of clutching at straws?

Aston Villa vs Bristol City

Villa are in a rich vein of form at the moment. They are the ones we should keep an eye on now, they will get the play-offs and they have hit momentum at the right point that I make them favourites to take that prize. They host 6th placed Bristol City, which will be a stern test for them but also a good marker of just how far they’ve come in the last month or so.
