With cutting excess the name of the game in the offices of Leeds United this summer, we’ll take a whistle stop tour of those who left Leeds over the summer and see how they’re getting on at their new clubs.
Early Disclaimer: Embarking on a journey to cover every player who left Elland Road this summer would be too mammoth a task. Here we shall look at those who left from the first or near the fringes of the first team.
Mallik Wilks: Wilks joined Barnsley over the Summer and has made a total of 5 starts for them this season, scoring 1 goal. Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel has been employing him mostly in a wide left position.
Aapo Halme: Halme also joined Barnsley, he’s made 4 appearances so far. Of these, just 2 have been a start. His debut being a 3-0 EFL First Round Cup loss to Carlisle United.
Pontus Jansson: Played every single minute for Brentford so far this season. Brentford sit 14th in the Championship so far, having won 2, drawn 1 and lost 3.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell: BPF is yet to make his debut for Burnley this season. He did however start in Northern Ireland’s 1-0 victory over Luxembourg the other night.
Kemar Roofe: Kemar Roofe remains injured and as a result is yet to feature for Anderlecht so far. Anderlecht have had a tricky start to the season and have registered just 1 win in their first 6 games. This form led to Vincent Kompany stepping down from managerial duties to focus on playing.
Tom Pearce: Pearce, too, is yet to make an appearance for Wigan.
