News has emerged this morning that Ryan Hall of Leeds United is set to sign for Yorkshire rivals, Sheffield United. The deal would initially involve a loan, and a deal could be completed as early as this morning as the blades want him in for their match tomorrow against Preston.

Various media outlets have also claimed a deal could happen today, including the BBC Radio Leeds Twitter feed and Phil Hay of the YEP. An emergency loan would see his stay at Sheffield United last 93 days, which would see him return to Elland Road on the 22nd December.

Hall was signed by Neil Warnock midway through the 12/13 season. Although he’s 25, he was brought in as “one for the future”. Really, Neil? I really can’t see him getting any game time at Leeds, and League 1 may well be his level. Well at least he’ll be playing first team football.
