Leeds United’s search for a Premier League win and a permanent manager continues into another week in February after a damning defeat to Everton at the weekend.

The Whites are without a win in 10 Premier League games right now having lost to the Toffees in a crucial relegation match at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Such a defeat dropped Leeds down to 19th in the league with results elsewhere making for the worst possible scenario for the club.

Will Skubala stay on?

After defeat to Everton, there are few signs that Leeds are set to find a route out of this mire with a new manager appointment this week.

Michael Skubala took charge of the side and while none of the blame for this situation Leeds find themselves in can be placed on him, it’s clear that this side look devoid of ideas under the guidance of a caretaker manager – contrasted with an inspired Everton under newly-appointed Sean Dyche.

What has Neville said about Leeds?

The pundits have been very one-sided when it comes to Leeds’ manager search, and there is nothing in the way of praise for the board for allowing the club to get into this position.

Speaking on Sunday evening, Gary Neville was keen to address to the shambles filtering onto the pitch from the Leeds hierarchy.

On the Gary Neville Podcast, the Sky Sports pundit took aim at Andrea Radrizzani:

“Sometimes it can be poor planning, it can sometimes be a little bit of arrogance – both, probably – that you think you can sack your manager and think ‘don’t worry, we’ll get one of the ones that we want’ and all of a sudden they all turn you down or they all aren’t available, that can happen and that’s usually naivety that causes that, where you sort of get above your station and think you can just bring anyone in that you want.

“From Leeds’ point of view, you have to look above the players and you have to look above the current interim manager and you have to say it isn’t looking particularly great on their part at this moment in time in terms of how they’ve dealt with the sacking of a manager, you need a seamless transition to settle the changing room down and settle the fanbase down.”

“Did he not come out on Twitter three or four days after the sacking saying ‘it’s looking like we’re going to appoint someone this week’? Was it deleted, yeah? It’s never great when you have to delete a tweet is it?”

Are Leeds going down?

Nail on the head from Neville.

Leeds are in such a tragic state at the moment and the arrogance that he speaks about here is the main reason for such seething anger from the fanbase.

We are being essentially mocked by a board who think they are too high and mighty to come under criticism, after striking gold with Marcelo Bielsa and riding on the back of the success he brought.

This club is in trouble this season and relegation is looking a certainty unless something drastic changes, and it starts with those at the top acting competently for five months.
