Leeds United should just about avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

That’s according to Gary Neville, who does however, believe that the Elland Road club face a similarly nervy end to the campaign as they did last season.

Leeds of course, needed a 2-1 win at Brentford on the final day of last season, to avoid relegation back to the Championship after just two seasons in the top-flight.

However, the club are now facing a similar predicament during the current campaign, having won just two of their last 15 Premier League matches, following Friday’s 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

That means Jesse Marsch’s side are currently 14th in the top-flight table, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

But despite those recent struggles, it seems Neville still believes they will be a Premier League club this time next year.

Giving his verdict on Leeds’ survival chances after that defeat, the former Manchester United man was quoted by Leeds Live as telling Sky Sports: “For Leeds, it’s a little precarious. I think it will probably continue like that for the rest of the season, they I think they will just be okay.”

It does feel as though this may turn out to be an accurate prediction from Neville.

There is no doubt that there are quality players in this Leeds squad, who have the spark required to get the wins they will need to stay out of trouble.

A busy looking transfer window, with two eye-catching signings already through the door in Max Wober and Georginio Rutter, with potentially more to come, also offers reason for encouragement.

With that in mind, you do feel that Leeds may have just enough at their disposal to haul themselves to safety, especially with other clubs struggling to get going off the pitch in market, as well as on it.
