Leeds United are set to keep current manager Garry Monk beyond the end of this season, according to a senior member of staff at the club.
After the 3-3 draw against Norwich effectively ended United’s Play-Off hopes with one game to spare, Monk was asked questions about his future by various journalists but didn’t seem to want to commit to give an answer.
This has lead to many fans on Social Media tweeting the club co-owner Andrea Radrizzani pleading with him to keep Monk beyond the summer when his current contract is set to expire. A petition has even been created by a fan and has already been signed by over 2,000 people.
After yesterday’s game there was talk of Monk being sacked for not getting Leeds into the Play-Off’s but if this Tweet is to be believed, those rumours are completely wide of the mark.
Simon O’Rourke Tweeted a few moments ago that according to a senior member of staff at Leeds, the club plan to keep Monk beyond this season.
Been assured today by a senior member of staff at LUFC that the club plans to keep and back Garry Monk this summer. Fantastic stuff.

This would be absolutely fantastic news for us Leeds fans. Monk has already seen Leeds finish in their best position since the 2010/2011 season and accrue 74 points, a total that would’ve seen us finish in the top six in recent seasons gone by. Providing we keep, which we desperately need to do, and back Monk I firmly believe we can mount a serious title push next season.
