Plenty of Leeds United fans have been reacting to the latest update on Adam Forshaw’s future at the club.

The midfielder has put pen to paper on a new contract to extend his stay at Elland Road, something which has seemingly pleased plenty of the club’s fans.

After almost two years out with a string of recurring injury issues, Forshaw has finally made his return to first-team action for Leeds this season.

The 30-year-old has now made 11 Premier League appearances for the Whites during the current campaign, during which he has produced a string of impressive performances.

With Kalvin Phillips enduring injury struggles of his own, that has seen Forshaw become a key part of the side, and had led to questions about his own future, with his contract having previously been set to come to an end this summer.

That however, is no longer a concern for Leeds, after it was announced on Friday night that the midfielder has put pen to paper on a new deal to secure his future at the club until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of that update, plenty of Leeds fans were keen to give their thoughts on Forshaw’s new deal.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.

You can’t blame Leeds fans for being pleased with this update on Forshaw’s future.

Ever since his return to the side earlier this season, Forshaw has been an impressive figure for the Whites, becoming a key player for Marcelo Bielsa’s side once again.

As a result, it makes sense to secure his future at the club, given how important he could continue to be for them, if he is able to remain fit.

Indeed, when you consider the effort that he has had to put in over such a length of time, you can’t say that the midfielder doesn’t deserve the recognition and reward that comes with this new contract.
