It seems that Leeds United are yet to hold talks with Barcelona over the potential transfer of Raphinha this summer.

That’s after a report from Brazilian outlet Goal Brasil, who say that the Elland Road club will wait until after the season has finished before negotiating with the Spanish giants about the winger.

Reports linking Raphinha with a summer move to Barcelona have only continued to intensify as the season has gone.

With Leeds struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table, it has even been claimed that the Brazilian has agreed personal terms on a move to the Camp Nou.

Now however, it seems as though there is still plenty of discussion to be done between Leeds and Barcelona before that deal can be completed, and that has yet to start.

According to this latest update, Leeds are yet to open talks with Barcelona about a deal for Raphinha, and will wait until the season has finished to do so.

Both clubs see their campaigns on Sunday, when Leeds may have to claim a positive result away at Brentford to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

This seems like a sensible approach for Leeds to take over this deal.

Things could be very different for the Elland Road club come Sunday evening, depending on that game with Brentford, and potentially results elsewhere.

As a result, it makes little sense to start discussions now, when Leeds could either be in a much stronger or much weaker position to negotiate in just a few day’s time.

Indeed, with this move being one that Raphinha himself is set on, it is unlikely that this delay will have any effect on his stance, bar the issue of how much Leeds are able to demand for his signing.

Is it now inevitable Raphinha will be a Barcelona player next season?
