Marcelo Bielsa could be missing some key personnel this evening when Leeds United take on Liverpool in the Premier League.
Leeds are looking to carry a bounce into tonight’s fixture following last Saturday’s impressive 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
However, that result came at a cost and Leeds have a couple of concerns heading into a tough clash with Liverpool.
We run you through the team news here:
We start with a confirmed absentee in the form of Liam Cooper.
The captain was sent off last weekend against Man City after a crunching tackle on Gabriel Jesus and now faces a three-game ban.
He starts that tonight and will also miss Man United’s visit and then Leeds’ trip to Brighton.
Raphinha was on the end of some heavy treatment from Fernandinho at the Etihad, which left the winger battered and bruised.
He is, as Bielsa has confirmed, a doubt this evening due to injury.
Leeds will hope he can pull through, but with Bielsa’s side cantering towards mid-table, what’s the need to risk him?
We’ve not seen much of Rodrigo in recent weeks, as injuries pinch and hinder the Spaniard’s flow at Elland Road.
Bielsa confirmed that Rodrigo is still recovering from his latest muscle problem and it appears that he’s set to miss this fixture.
Lighter news now, in the form of Adam Forshaw.
The midfielder hasn’t featured for Leeds since 2019 and has been on a rotten luck of injury woe.
However, he’s now back in training and got vital under-23 minutes against Aston Villa on Friday night.
That was great to see and it would top off a fine weekend for him if he got onto the bench tonight.
Harrison could not feature against parent-club, Manchester City, last weekend.
However, he returns tonight and is expected to come back in on the left, either in the place of Raphinha (injury) or Helder Costa (tactical).
The winger scored in the reverse fixture.
