Leeds United have been linked with a shock move to sign highly-rated Lyon winger Tetê this month, amid reported interest from Leicester City.

The Whites have been very active in this January window, but even the signing of a third player in the shape of a midfielder would have been a surprise at the start of the month.

Negotiations with Weston McKennie look to be progressing very smoothly at present, but a fourth name has entered the discussion.

In the way of attack, Leeds look very well covered after bringing in Georginio Rutter, but there might be another name being added to Jesse Marsch’s attack.

French outlet L’Equipe are reporting that Lyon’s Brazilian winger Tetê is arriving in England today in order to complete a move to Leeds.

The winger cancelled his loan with Shakhtar Donetsk in order to pursue a different move, and the report claims that Leeds are the side that have won the race.

However, this revelation comes alongside previous links to Leicester City – per the Leicester Mercury – as Brendan Rodgers’ side push to strengthen too.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared insight into the discussions, with Leicester in advanced talks to sign the winger:

Should this hold up, Tetê would be a brilliant signing, but it’ll have some consequences on the fabric of our squad, mainly with Jack Harrison.

The Leeds winger could well be out of the door if Leeds are happy to get in another attacking player, and selling Harrison might be the way we free up the cash to sign McKennie permanently.

A 4-3-3 is the way we look to be building our squad right now, and Tetê would be a great addition with bags of potential.
