Leeds United look to have three candidates in the running for the manager position: Andoni Iraola, Marcelo Gallardo, and Arne Slot.

This week could be another huge one in the Leeds’ attempts to shape their season and move away from the relegation zone.

Having parted ways with Jesse Marsch on Monday, the task for Victor Orta and co is now to source the right replacement to take over.

The interview process is underway for Leeds to push ahead with negotiations to appoint a new manager this week, with The Times reporting of three managers that are in the frame for the job as things stand.

Those three are said to be Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola, Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, and Marcelo Gallardo (previously at River Plate).

Whom the club go for remains to be seen, with Andrea Radrizzani’s ‘hopeful’ overnight timescale now elapsed into this afternoon.

However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed who the club are prioritising at this moment in time:

Who should replace Marsch long-term?

Any of those three would be a great appointment for Leeds, knowing what they have achieved at their respective clubs.

Out of those, Iraola for me jumps out as the one that we are rightly prioritising, given how well he is doing with a minimal budget at Rayo Vallecano.

Width in possession, control over the ball, and much smarter pressing to restrict build-up for opponents – Iraola would be a very shrewd appointment.
