Leeds United remain interest in signing Club Brugge winger Noa Lang when the transfer window reopens.

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who says that the Belgian side could be forced to sell the 23-year-old once the market reopens.

Leeds’ interest in a deal for Lang appears to long running, with it first reported in the summer of 2021 that they were keen on the winger.

But for all that speculation, with other clubs having also been linked with a deal, no move has so far materialised, with Lang still a Club Brugge player.

Now however, it seems that could still change in the not too distant future, with Leeds still in the picture, judging by these latest comments from Romano.

Speaking about Lang on his YouTube channel, the journalist said: “Noa Lang, a player I really appreciate, I think he’s really underrated. It’s true that Brugge already sold Charles de Ketelaere to AC Milan, but Noa Lang was available on the market.

“He will be available in the future transfer windows, so a really important and interesting opportunity.

“He was on the list of Leeds for example, and also some other clubs around Europe were tracking him, especially in Italy. But now, Noa Lang, is still available on the market, so a missed opportunity.”

As things stand, there are three years remaining on Lang’s contract with Club Brugge, securing his future in Belgium until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The prospect of a new move for Lang is an intriguing one to consider from a Leeds United perspective.

On the one hand, the departure of Dan James late in the summer window may have left a void to be filled out wide, and Lang’s record throughout his time with Brugge suggests he would be an asset for the club.

However, it is worth noting that with the likes of Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Rodrigo and Crysencio Summerville, they do still have options on the wing, and Lang is unlikely to be cheap given his contract situation.

As a result, given the need for reinforcements in other positions that are needed, it could be argued this may not be a priority for Leeds at this moment in time.
