Blackburn Rovers have reportedly fielded a €10m bid for Ben Brereton Diaz from Nice, amid interest from Leeds United in taking the Chilean to the Premier League.

Leeds have done some swift and very good business in the transfer window so far.

However, Jesse Marsch’s squad still looks short of a striker and someone of Brereton Diaz’s profile would fit what the club needs.

As per Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Blackburn fielded a bid worth €10m from Nice for Brereton Diaz.

That will see them open talks with Blackburn over the service of the 23-year-old.

Brereton Diaz is someone who has tentatively been linked with Leeds for a good couple of months now, although there’s said to be nothing ”advanced” when it comes to bringing the forward to Elland Road.

During Blackburn’s impressive start to the Championship season, Brereton Diaz has scored two goals and registered an assist in three 22/23 appearances.

Should Leeds move for BBD?

Despite quite widespread interest in Brereton Diaz from across the globe, there has been little talk of official bids.

That’s until now, with Nice seeming to make their move.

What will be interesting now is whether or not other clubs start to emerge in the race to sign the Blackburn ace.

Everton have recently been linked and we know all about Leeds’ rather tentative interest in the last couple of transfer windows.

With Leeds still needing a striker, it might just be worth the club keeping an eye on developments.
