Though Leeds would ride out the match to a 1-0 win there was much debate over the nature of the goal scored by Leeds. For once, it was not a debate over whether it was a goal or not, but just who scored it. Much more fun by all standards.

One for the FA’s so called ‘dubious goals panel’ then perhaps.

According to respected twitter user @LUFCDATA the goal has now adjudged to have been scored by ex-Leeds defender Kyle Bartley, so cheers Kyle. Classifying this as an own goal is to the detriment of Leeds winger/full back Ezgjan Alioski who now has one chalked off his tally, so sorry Gjanni.

With Alioski unlikely to be chasing any top scorer competitions in the Championship, the ultimate outcome of this decision is likely to be largely inconsequential. He as much as anyone will be of the firm belief that 3 points against what was once an unbeaten West Brom side is the only important matter at hand here.
