Leeds United tied down 17-year-old Morten Spencer to a professional contract, and Thierry Small has reacted to the news.

Leeds have been keen to ensure the long-term future of the club is in good hands this season.

That means new youth players have been brought in to strengthen the academy while existing youngsters have been tied down to new deals.

One of the players tied down to a professional contract is England youth international Morten Spencer.

The 17-year-old winger has impressed since moving from Sunderland in 2019, and joins Max Dean who also recently sign professional terms.

Spencer took to Instagram to share his thoughts on a landmark moment:

A host of youngsters both from Leeds and elsewhere congratulated Spencer.

Amongst those was the Leeds-linked Everton starlet Thierry Small, who had this brief message:

Spencer is clearly a very talented player to be playing internationally and getting a professional deal already.

Leeds came into the PL2 this season but he is already making an impact in the under-18s division.

His two goals and three assists in 10 league appearances have helped the under-18s turn around what was a poor start to the season.

Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for Spencer as he pushes through the ranks.
