Some of the fondest memories from last season for Leeds United involve Huddersfield Town, but the rivalry persists all the same.

Luke Ayling’s volley and Emile Smith-Rowe’s late strike against West Brom stick out as two of last season’s biggest moments and we have the Terriers to thank for contributing.

We’ve got bigger fish to fry this season but it’s always nice to reflect on rivalries, especially when you’re doing well compared to that rival.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Huddersfield’s results more so due to Carlos Corberan being in charge of the side.

They faced runaway leaders Norwich City last night and fell to an embarrassing 7-0 defeat, where Teemu Pukki netted a hattrick.

Richard Keogh’s presence at the back for Town also makes for interesting viewing from the Leeds perspective.

The win sees Norwich within touching distance of promotion back to the Premier League while the Terriers will be looking over their shoulders at the bottom three.

It’s not so much our business as it was last season, but the Leeds fans couldn’t help but weigh in on such a catastrophe…

It looks like Norwich are going to be the first team promoted to the Premier League this season.

Keeping hold of all of their best players has been huge for bouncing back and that side is far too good to be playing in the Championship.

As for Huddersfield, the relegation zone isn’t far away and it doesn’t seem like they’ve progressed much under Corberan.

It’s a shame because some people will have earmarked him as a potential successor to Marcelo Bielsa.

While that could still be the case in the distant future, it seems a way off.
