Leeds United look to be narrowing down their search for a new signing this month as Victor Orta searches for recruits.
The Whites are in dire need of additions this month as the injury continues to pile up.
Central midfield is typically where most would point to as an area of weakness in this side and is expected to be where Leeds look to strengthen.
A host of names have been thrown into the mix since the start of the January window, with Leeds having little yet to show for their scouting.
It’s a cautious approach that shouldn’t be rushed, but as we approach the league meeting with West Ham, fans aren’t seeing much for the work being done behind the scenes.
Victor Orta’s network will stretch far and wide to ensure he sources the right player for Bielsa to work with right away in mid-season, and now Sky Sports are reporting that he’s seemingly found his prime target.
Sky reporter Dharmesh Sheth had this to say on Leeds’ pursuit a key signing:
“Leeds still looking to strengthen their midfield.
“They’re prepared to be patient to land their main target.”
This does suggest to me that the club have got the player they are determined to sign.
However, the patience element of this reveal might be a frustrating one for some.
A player of the quality we need that is likely to be available this month is probably someone that has interest from elsewhere too.
Act too slowly and we could miss out on that player.
