According to reports, Leeds are battling it out with Celtic and Southampton to sign 33-year-old Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood. Leeds are in a difficult position at the minute, BPF couldn’t have done much better since coming into the team but he’s still only 22 with limited experience, can you go into another season with him as your main keeper? Nobody top quality is going to come and be number two to someone of BPF’s age.
Westwood has only featured 18 times for Wednesday this season due to injury and with one year left on his deal, Wednesday may look to cash in. Although from what I’ve seen, their current keeper in Wildsmith isn’t much to shout about. I personally still rate Westwood highly after his games against Leeds for Carlisle, I wish we’d signed him then and 10 years later it still makes sense.
Let us know what you think, would you stick with BPF, or would you prefer Westwood?
Personally, if Peacock-Farrell remains strong through these last three games, I’d consider giving him the job. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough and if it worked out, we’d have an extremely long-term number one. However I also wouldn’t be angry if they went the other way and signed an experienced, quality keeper.
No we do need another keeper as back up bpf he has performed brilliantly since he came into the side and if he has the shirt he should keep it on merit age is of no matter
