Kris Moore has today put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract at Leeds United.

Leeds have proved good to their word in offering youth a chance in recent seasons, with Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team injury crisis contributing to that.

Moore has been involved on the bench on three occasions this season, but is still awaiting his first-team debut.

Nevertheless, the centre-back has committed the early years of his professional career to Leeds by signing a two-and-a-half year deal.

Taking to Instagram to react to the agreement, the 18-year-old wrote:

This is great news for Moore and something that will have been an easy decision for Leeds to make.

The teenager is one of the leading centre-backs in the Academy and is stepping up regularly now in the U23s.

He’s covered the first-team injury crisis, too, but is behind Leo Hjelde and Charlie Cresswell in terms of emerging.

Moore’s task over the course of this two-and-a-half year deal is to prove he’s that calibre of centre-back and has what it takes to play Premier League football.

For now, though, he’s delighted and it’s great to see.
