With a month to go until the January window opens, there will be plans formulated at Elland Road around how to strengthen Daniel Farke’s squad for the back end of the season.
At centre-back, the German’s first-choice pairing is pretty obvious, but he might have to bulk up the options if Charlie Cresswell decides he’s wasting his time sitting as fourth choice.
Leeds to pursue Nathaniel Adjei?
Voetbal Krant reported last month that Leeds were one of a host of clubs keeping tabs on Hammarby’s talented centre-back Nathaniel Adjei.
The Ghana under-21 international has impressed in Sweden’s top-flight, with Leeds one of a few Championship clubs that would be keen to make a move during the January window.
In terms of the fee that Leeds would be looking to pay to sign him from Hammarby, the above report claims that he would be worth up to £3.5million in 2024.

Coventry to swoop in?
Now, journalist Alan Nixon has reported that Leeds are joined by Coventry City in their interest in signing Adjei in the new year.
Whether or not Adjei is a concrete target for Leeds and Coventry remains to be seen, but one thing that it should highlight for the 49ers is that other clubs are also formulating transfer strategies too.
Targets for sides pushing for promotion are likely to overlap between clubs if they are hunting for recruitments in the same position.
Adjei is a good example of that – a player at a great age for development, but also very experienced already, and offers the all-round qualities needed to excel in the Championship and potentially in the Premier League.
In December, expect plans to start taking a more clear shape, even if it doesn’t become common knowledge.
