As Leeds United look to turn the screw on the signing of Brenden Aaronson from Red Bull Salzburg, there have been claims of a second bid for a mystery target.

Leeds’ search for an additional midfielder this month has seemingly landed them at priority target, Brenden Aaronson, a USMNT figure and Red Bull Salzburg regular.

However, just one name might not be enough to completely erase Leeds’ ongoing issue of having no depth.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Aaronson fills a big gap in the Leeds squad that has needed attention since promotion, and even more so since Pablo Hernandez’s departure.

A £15million bid for the 21-year-old came alongside claims from the Mirror’s David Anderson that a second bid for another target has been tabled too.

Not much has since been revealed about the identity of this player, but the claims haven’t been backed up today.

The Yorkshire Evening Post are claiming that there has been no other offers made for players, outside of the Aaronson approach:

Well, it might not seem like we have that player in sights now, but there could well be more movement.

I’d much prefer us going all out to sign Aaronson before looking at another deal, making sure we get quality in too.

There’s still plenty of time before the end of the month to get players in, so the ‘no rush’ policy we’ve got is working well.

I still do hope we get one more name in after the proposed arrival of Aaronson.
