Jack Harrison featured in Leeds United’s final pre-season friendly on Sunday night, helping Jesse Marsch’s side to a 6-2 victory over Cagliari.
Leeds face Wolves at Elland Road on Saturday in the first Premier League fixture of the season and, as things stand, Harrison looks a certainty for Marsch’s starting line-up.
That’s despite Leeds fielding heavy interest from Newcastle United in the 25-year-old, with recent reports suggesting that a €40m proposal has been knocked back.
As it is, Harrison seems fully focused on matters at Elland Road, taking to Instagram following Sunday night’s win in West Yorkshire insisting he cannot wait for the season’s start:
Can you see Harrison leaving this summer?
Yes
No
Credit to Harrison, who doesn’t look like the speculation is bothering him one bit.
He was very good for Leeds against Cagliari on Sunday and looks well primed for the opening day against Wolves.
Marsch has been clear that Harrison is very important to him and Leeds’ board are going to be mindful of that.
Of course, Harrison has his price, but it’s worth driving that up after a summer of significant departures already.
Fingers crossed that this time next month, Harrison is still a Leeds player.
