The season is back
It seems like ages since Steve Evans’ reign as Leeds head-coach came to an end against Preston back in May. A new manager, seven new signings and three months later here we are. QPR are the hosts as Leeds travel to Loftus Road looking for their first victory over the R’s since 2011.

Losing Lewis Cook was a massive blow and if Charlie Taylor departs in the near future then we’ll be very light at left-back. The signings Monk has made are promising; Roofe has looked very sharp and direct when I’ve seen him, Bartley will be a solid centre-back alongside Cooper or Bamba and Pablo Hernandez can light up this division on his day.

I’m optimistic once again that Leeds can have a successful season under Monk, as long as Cellino doesn’t interfere and sack him within the first three months of the season. I’m really looking forward to the open, attractive football the former Swansea manager will bring to Elland Road.
