Adam Forshaw has penned a new contract at Leeds United, keeping him at Elland Road until 2023 with the option of an additional year.
Forshaw’s last two years had been a nightmare as he struggled to recover from injury, but ever since he has returned to Marcelo Bielsa’s starting lineup, he’s been a revelation.
The midfielder’s expiring contract is something that hasn’t been a major pressure lately, but he has now been rewarded for his stunning comeback displays with a new one-year deal, with the option of an extension:
The reaction was overwhelmingly positive for the player, with his teammates sharing their delight, including this message from Stuart Dallas on Instagram:

Great news.
No one has deserved this more than Forshaw, after the patience and hard work he’s put in to be able to get to this point.
A lot of people (including myself) had given up on hoping for him to be a key player for us again after promotion, but he’s proved us wrong.
That mindset is such a great asset for him and it sets an amazing example to everyone else in the club, just as he does with every passing game.
