Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt is set to extend his loan deal with Leeds United until the Summer, according to Phil Hay.
Bridcutt joined on an emergency loan and his initial deal runs out today but with both Leeds and Bridcutt himself keen to extend the deal, it looks as if a loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent contract is going to be completed in the next 24/48 hours.
Bridcutt's been at Thorp Arch this morning (initial loan officially ends today). Extension to that deal likely to be confirmed in 24/48 hrs

Other clubs have noted their interest in Bridcutt – including Brighton, Cardiff and Brighton but with the player himself admitting he’s keen to stay at Elland Road, it would seem that United have beaten off any competition with ease.
I’d be very happy with the Bridcutt deal, he’s impressed me and was our stand-out player in the majority of his appearances. Whether a permanent deal would happen, I’m not so sure. For me he’s got the quality to start for any side in the Championship, he’s that good.
